Project Volumes
Building A (Bygg A) and Building B (Bygg B) are nearly identical to each other as are Building D (Bygg D) and Building E (Bygg E). Building C (Bygg C) is on the corner of the regulated plot.Norway and the municipality of Skien have strict zoning laws, where there is a certain floorspace to outdoor area ratio (MUA, BYA). As important are the orientation of the apartments to maximise sunlight and reduce road noise.

Brick and Metal Cladded Facade
Skien, Norway has a rich industrial history and the project is on a dammed river surrounded by heritage brick buildings. Each building uses either red brick, white brick, and metal cladding on facades. A mix of rectangular windows and french balconies complement the industrial stylings of the project. Window and door flashings and metalic railings add minimalistic ornamentation to the volumes.Drawings made while at SPIR. Sent for construction approval.
